The reason that makes the Quran the master key. 3 wonders of Surah Mulk is a single glimpse from the Quran to glorify its blessings being the true guidance for all mankind.

It contains the universal message for mankind and abundant with guidelines that helped the world in every walk of human life. there are 114 surahs in the Quran and each is a great source of guidance and knowledge.

Surah Mulk is the 67th chapter of the Quran which is a Maki surah and contains 30 verses in it. While tracing its background it is one of the surahs revealed in the early days of Islam in Makkah. Its name Al Mulk has been taken from the first verse of Surah,

“Immensely Blessed is He in Whose control is the entire Kingdom, and He has authority over everything.” (Al-Mulk, 1:67)

Moving towards 3 wonders of Surah Mulk

Companion in the grave

Saves from the punishment of Allah

Will intercede for your forgiveness

There are Ahadees of Prophet Muhammad SAW, which strengthen the point made in this blog post, let us add few Ahadees from the books of Ahadees.

The first one is from Al-Hakim

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said, “I wish that “Blessed is the Dominion” would be in the heart of every believer.” (Al-Hakim in Al-Mustadrak 1/253 and Qurtabi in his commentary 17/205.)

The second one is from Al-Qurtabi

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “When the deceased is placed in their grave; it comes in front of his legs and says, “There is no way for you here as he used to perform the Surah Al-Mulk.” Then it would stand before his head and say to his tongue, “There is no way for you because he used to recite Surah Al-Mulk.” Then he said, “It is a protector from the punishment of Allah. It is in the Torah that whoever recites the Surah Al-Mulk has increased and become more fragrant.” (Al-Qurtabi 18/205.)

The third one is from Al-Tirmizi

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said, “It is a protector; a rescuer; saving from the chastisement of the grave.” (At-Tirmidhi and Al-Hakim.)

Another by Ibn e Masud

Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said, “Surah Tabaruk protects from the punishment of the grave.” (Ibn Mardawaya.)

Surah Mulk’s message in a few words

Let us try to see in verse by verse what surah Mulk contains in it.

The first 5 verses of Surah Mulk talk about the management of this universe. The verses are elaborative of this point that the whole system of the universe is flawless and is completely controlled by Allah SWT, so one cannot find any sort of defect in that in any way. And the other thing that is important is, human beings are not born without a purpose. They are sent in the world for a test period and they will all be brought back in front of Allah to justify their time which they spent on earth.

From verses 6 to 11 it warns about the consequences of not following the guidelines by Allah SWT and if the people will not follow the commandment of Prophets the consequences will not be in their favor.

From 12 to 14 the surah talks about the vigilance of Allah SWT and the verses clearly tell that Allah SWT is very vigilant for all the actions human beings are performing in the world. And the best way to be safe from the punishment of Allah on the day of Qayamah is to have fear of Allah in the deepest of the hearts.

From 15 to 23 the verses invoke the need to ponder over the signs that prove Allah’s might. It is asked to think about how the system of the universe is running smoothly. A single jolt and a single earthquake can shatter the whole world in which all human beings are living. No one is able to give you your livelihood if He Allah SWT wished not to do so.

The verses from 24 to 27 talk about the time when everyone will be brought to Allah SWT.  The duty of Prophet is not to tell you the time and date of that final happening but to tell you how to prepare for that time. And when that comes everyone will see with bare eyes what was promised to them all.

Verses 28 and 29 are the replies of the disbelievers of Makkah. It is mentioned in those verses that if you keep on wishing bad for the believers it will not end your punishment, all you have to do is think for yourself that how you will survive against the punishment of Allah SWT.

And the last verse is a question left for non-believers that in the land of Arab where your whole survival depends upon water if Allah takes it away how on earth someone except Allah SWT will take it back for you?

Like other parts of the Quran, Surah Mulk is enriched with countless blessings. The best companion of the grave after one dies. As the grave according to Prophet SAW is the first and foremost stage in every believer’s life.

Allah’s Prophet Hazrat e Muhammad SAW said: Narrated by Uthman ibn Affan The Prophet (saws) said: “Verily the grave is the first step in the stages of the Hereafter. If one finds salvation at this stage,   the succeeding stages become easy for him.  And if he does not find salvation at this stage,  what follows this stage is very hard upon him.  I have never seen a site more horrible than that of the grave.” (Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 132)

May Allah guide us on the path of those upon He have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked His anger of those who are astray. Aameen.
